On October 29, H.E. Ambassador Yang Yang attended the handover ceremony of drones donated by the Chinese Embassy to the Guyana Marine Conservation Society (GMCS). Counsellor Li Hanqing, Ms. Annette Arjoon-Martins, President of GMCS, and representatives of the Society attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Yang noted that the donation is a concrete step taken by China to support environmental conservation in Guyana and deepen bilateral cooperation on green development. She expressed hope that the drones would help enhance Guyana’s capacity for marine ecosystem monitoring and conservation, and contribute to its sustainable development. She emphasized that China stands ready to further deepen cooperation with Guyana in environmental protection to bring more tangible benefits to the people of both nations.

GMCS expressed appreciation for China's generous donation, noting that the equipment would empower Indigenous youth to strengthen their capacity for marine ecosystem conservation. They looked forward to taking this opportunity to further enhance exchanges and cooperation with China in environmental protection.
