Welcome to surf the website of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
Guyana is the only English-speaking country in South America and the largest traditional Caribbean country, bordered by Suriname to the east, Venezuela to the west, Brazil to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north.
Although China and Guyana are far apart geographically, the two countries enjoy a long history of friendship. Since 1853, when the first group of Chinese arrived in Guyana, they have been gradually integrated into local society and become one of the six ethnic groups of Guyana. Guyana is the first country in the English-speaking Caribbean region to establish diplomatic relations with China. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China and Guyana's political mutual trust has been further deepened. Cooperation in various areas has been steadily advanced. In July 2023, President Xi Jinping and President Mohamed Irfaan Ali held a successful meeting and reached important consensus on building a more close-knit China-Guyana community with a shared future, charting a course for further development of bilateral ties.
The Chinese Embassy in Guyana will actively promote the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. I sincerely hope that the website will become a window for all friends to understand China and China-Guyana relations, a bridge to enhance the friendship between China and Guyana, and a link between overseas Chinese in Guyana and their motherland.
Your valuable comments and advice on the work of the Embassy will be highly appreciated.

People's Republic of China to the Cooperative Republic of Guyana
