Chinese Embassy and Ministry of Education jointly launched the 2nd Guyana-China Friendship Youth Leadership Development Competition

On March 7, 2022, the Chinese Embassy and Ministry of Education of Guyana jointly launched the 2nd Guyana-China Friendship Youth Leadership Development Competition. Ambassador Guo Haiyan and Hon. Minister Priya Manickchand among other officials of the two sides attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation MOU. To mark the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Guyana, this year's competition will see the number of awardees doubled and invite the participants to produce an artwork under the theme "the 50 years of Guyana-China cooperation".

At the ceremony, Ambassador Guo emphasized the importance of educational cooperation between the two countries. The Competition, initiated by the Embassy and the Ministry together in 2021, has been proven to be a great success. She expressed her high expectations and best wishes to this year's participants. "I believe this competition will help cultivate the builders of Guyana." said Ambassador Guo.

Minister Manickchand commended the initiative of holding the competition, which help develop some well-rounded citizens. She expressed her confidence that this year's competition would be the most significant way to commemorate the 50-year friendship between Guyana and China.
