On 18 March 2024, H.E. Chinese Ambassador Guo Haiyan met with the delegation of Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO) of the United Nations led by Director-General Dr. Qu Dongyu, who was attending the 38th FAO Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean Ministerial Session in Guyana. The two sides discussed food security in the Caribbean and cooperation between FAO and the region.

This is the first time that FAO has held the regional conference in Guyana, and Ambassador Guo attended the opening ceremony.
