On January 19th, 2024, H.E. Ambassador Guo Haiyan met with Hon. Hugh Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Guyana to exchange views on enhancing China-Guyana friendship and cooperation. 

Ambassador Guo briefed Hon. Foreign Minister Todd on the Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs held last month in Beijing and noted that China is willing to strengthen China-Guyana cooperation under the guidance of the idea of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and intensify coordination and cooperation with Guyana at the United Nations and other multilateral platforms, and jointly usher in a bright future of peace, security, prosperity and progress for our world.

Hon. Foreign Minister Todd reaffirmed Guyana’s firm adherence to the One-China policy and said that Guyana stands ready to work with China to promote friendship and cooperation in political, economic and other areas, in a bid to better benefit the two peoples.
