On September 27th, Ambassador Guo Haiyan, led by the Hon. Collin Croal, Minister of Housing and Water, visited the LBI and Cummings Lodge housing projects developed by the Ministry. Counselor Li Hanqing of the Embassy, representatives from several Chinese enterprises and staff from the Ministry and the Central Housing and Planning Authority accompanied.

In recent years, the Guyanese government has vigorously promoted the construction of housing projects to meet increasing demand of Guyanese people. Driven by factors including the booming oil and gas economy, the real GDP of construction sector in Guyana grew by 44.1% in the first half of 2023, with the expected annual growth upgraded to 26.9%.
