On Octobor 13, 2022, Ambassador Guo Haiyan signed the Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana Relating to Civil Air Transport with Hon. Bishop Juan A. Edghill, Minister of Public Works, in Georgetown, Guyana.

The signing of the agreement is an important step to implement the consensus of President Xi Jinping and President Mohamed Irfaan Ali on deepening bilateral relations and to promote the Belt and Road Initiative, laying a legal foundation for the deepening of civil aviation cooperation of the two sides, and will strongly support economic and trade cooperation and facilitate people-to-people exchanges between China and Guyana.
