Ambassador Zhang Limin Attended the Celebration of the Founding of the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Guyana

     The Association of Chinese Enterprises in Guyana held a function to celebrate its founding on January 15, 2014. H.E. Mr. Zhang Limin, Chinese Ambassador to Guyana attended the celebration together with President of Guyana Donald Ramotar, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, Former President Bahrrat Jagdeo and ministers of finance, natural resources, home affairs and tourism.

 

     In his remarks, Ambassador Zhang pointed out that China-Guyana relations are deepening and the fields of cooperation expanding continuously since the establishment of diplomatic ties over 40 years ago. The Chinese enterprises in Guyana have been expanding their business and made great contributions to the economic and social development of Guyana. Ambassador Zhang expressed his gratitude for the assistance of the leaders of Guyana and for the Chinese companies’ contribution to the China-Guyana friendship.

 

     President Ramotar said that China and Guyana have a long history of friendship. The cooperation between two countries has been expanded from political to economic and other fields. The government of Guyana welcomes the investment from China and will continue to push forward projects which will contribute to the development of Guyana. Guyana stands ready to work with the Chinese side to promote the mutually beneficiary cooperation further.
